PRESS RELEASE | Celia Lee at Simon and Schuster has bought world English rights to Imagine New Suns, a picture book by Gwendolyn Wallace, illustrated by Hayden Goodman, about the life of Octavia Butler inspired by words from Butler’s own journals.

The book follows a young dyslexic Butler who through books about science, robots, space, and aliens at her local library finds belonging, enabling her to imagine powerful new universes in her writing. Publication is slated for summer 2026; Wendi Gu at GreenburgerKids represented the author, and Jessica Saint Jean at Jill Grinberg Literary Management represented the illustrator.
